3.52

今諮曰：不真宗，即是通教；真宗，即是通宗者。宗則通真、不真，不真何得沒宗而用教？真宗何意無教而立宗？宗若無教，何得知真耶？

Now one might inquire: "The tenet of the untrue is the shared teaching; the true tenet is the shared tenet." If a tenet covers both the true and the untrue, why should the untrue discard "tenet" and use "teaching"? Why should the true tenet lack "teaching" and establish "tenet"? If a tenet lacks teaching, how could one know the true?
