答曰：《楞伽經》云「說通教童矇，宗通教菩薩」，故以真為通宗也。

The answer is: The *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra* says, "The shared preaching teaches the childish and ignorant; the shared tenet teaches bodhisattvas"; therefore, the true is taken as the shared tenet.
