3.78

《華嚴》但詮假名俗諦、中道。又解云：華嚴教，詮別三諦一心；三藏漸教，詮真俗二諦；方等大乘之教，詮三諦，一往同華嚴；摩訶般若，亦具詮三諦，一往同華嚴；法華但詮一心三諦；涅槃備詮三諦，一往亦同華嚴也。

The *Avataṃsaka* expresses only conventional truth as nominal designation and the Middle Way. Another explanation says: The *Avataṃsaka* teaching expresses the three truths distinctively in one mind; the Tripiṭaka gradual teaching expresses the two truths, true and conventional; the Vaipulya Mahāyāna teaching expresses the three truths, broadly identical to the *Avataṃsaka*; the *Mahāprajñāpāramitā* also fully expresses the three truths, broadly identical to the *Avataṃsaka*; the *Lotus* expresses only the three truths in one mind; the *Nirvāṇa* fully expresses the three truths, broadly also identical to the *Avataṃsaka*.
