1. Clarifying origin and traces in terms of principle and phenomena: This sūtra says: 'From the origin of non-abiding, all dharmas are established.' Now clarifying inconceivable principle and phenomena as origin and traces: 'principle' refers to the principle of the inconceivable ultimate truth as origin, and 'phenomena' refers to the phenomena of the inconceivable conventional truth as traces. Due to the origin of the principle of the inconceivable ultimate truth, there are traces of the phenomena of the inconceivable conventional truth; by following the traces of the phenomena of the inconceivable conventional truth, one finds the origin of the principle of the inconceivable ultimate truth. Thus, though origin and traces are distinct, inconceivably they are one.
