答曰：權、實有多種，若就自行化他明權、實者，前來權、實，但是用，而非體。今經正就化他明權實，是故權、實俱是用也。

Answer: There are many kinds of provisional and ultimate. If one clarifies the provisional and the ultimate in terms of self-cultivation and transforming others, the provisional and ultimate mentioned earlier were merely function, not substance. This sūtra now precisely clarifies the provisional and ultimate in terms of transforming others; therefore, both the provisional and the ultimate are function.
