First, explaining the intention of entering the provisional: this contemplation specifically contemplates the conventional truth to destroy ignorance [vast as] sands of dust. If the two vehicles do not transform beings, they do not need this contemplation; but for the bodhisattva's vast salvation, this contemplation is indispensable. As for what is called "entering the provisional from emptiness": if one stagnates in emptiness, one falls into the ground of the two vehicles. As the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra says: "With the divine eye, I see bodhisattvas [countless as] the sands of the Ganges in the worlds of the ten directions who study the bodhisattva path; few manage to enter the bodhisattva stage, while many fall into the ground of the two vehicles." Therefore, bodhisattvas of the shared teaching must enter the provisional from emptiness, and using the knowledge of the aspects of the path, enter the bodhisattva stage. If one does not stagnate in emptiness, it is like planting trees in space, diagnosing medicines and sicknesses, and transforming sentient beings.
