Third, explaining the contemplation's completion in transforming beings: when the bodhisattva cultivates and realizes by entering the provisional from emptiness, this is contemplating the provisionality of causes and conditions, termed the immeasurable four noble truths of arising and non-arising, also called the knowledge of the aspects of the path (mārgākārajñatā), and also called the Dharma eye. Surpassing the ground of the two vehicles, they use the knowledge of the aspects of the path to enter the bodhisattva stage and cultivate realization by entering the provisional. The knowledge of the aspects of the path has three kinds: first, the aspects of the path of arising and cessation; second, the aspects of the path of non-arising; third, the aspects of the path relying on the storehouse consciousness. When the bodhisattva abides in this stage, in order to subdue the heavenly Māra and his retinue, they enter the provisionality of craving, manifesting various supernormal powers and even performing shared actions to benefit beings, expounding various treatises on affection—such as the Three Tomes and Five Canons of this land, texts that pacify the state and nurture the populace. In order to subdue non-Buddhists and their retinue, they enter the provisionality of views, displaying wisdom and even performing shared actions to benefit beings, expounding various treatises on views—just as the eighteen kinds of the six teachers all claim all-knowledge. They deeply know that the sicknesses of suffering and origin born of craving and views are immeasurable, and the medicines of the path and cessation are likewise immeasurable, all like immeasurable dreams and illusions; using the four siddhāntas, they respond to their capacities and conditions, prescribing medicines according to the sickness. Furthermore, in order to deliver such immeasurable sentient beings, the bodhisattva sports with supernormal powers, purifies the buddha-lands, brings sentient beings to maturity, and enters the provisional to cultivate immeasurable vows and practices. This is "the contemplation's completion in transforming beings."
