If one abides in the three virtues, this is abiding in inconceivable liberation, abiding in the Mahāyāna, abiding in prajñā by means of non-abiding dharmas, abiding in the Śūraṅgama samādhi; cultivating and maintaining the mind such that it is like empty space, this is abiding in dharma-nature, abiding in the true mark, abiding in suchness, abiding in the tathāgatagarbha, abiding in the middle way as paramārtha-satya, abiding in the dharma-realm, abiding in ultimate emptiness, abiding in great kindness and great compassion, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, and the eighteen unshared dharmas; this is abiding in the four unobstructed knowledges, supernormal powers, the four means of embrace, all pāramitās, and all gates of samādhi and dhāraṇī. In short, this is abiding in both the true and response bodies, and all the buddhadharmas. Hence the Avataṃsaka Sūtra says: "At the time of the initial generation of the mind, one immediately realizes correct enlightenment; thoroughly penetrating the true nature of all dharmas, all dharmas heard are not awakened to through others. This bodhisattva achieves the ten kinds of powers of wisdom, ultimately free from falsehood, undefiled like empty space; the pure, marvelous Dharma-body serenely responds to all." One should know that this is giving rise to the true uncontaminated [state] and severing the first grade of ignorance; it is what this sūtra clarifies as "in a single thought knowing all dharmas"; it is "because the site of enlightenment achieves all-knowledge"; and it is what this sūtra clarifies as "entering the dharma-door of non-duality and attaining anutpattika-dharma-kṣānti."
