Third, the two truths conforming to wisdom: the principle of the two truths seen by the sages of the two vehicles through the eye of Dharma and eye of wisdom upon generating true non-outflow. If spoken to ordinary beings, it is like showing the appearance of white to the blind. Therefore the Miaoshengding jing clarifies that Mañjuśrī and Śākyamuni on the causal ground disputed the meaning of the two truths and fell into the three evil destinies, and upon seeing Kāśyapa Buddha, he expounded the two truths—this reveals that the two truths conforming to wisdom cannot be sought through sentiment. If sought through sentiment with grasping and disputation, one commits the same error as Śākyamuni and Mañjuśrī grasping at the two truths conforming to sentiment on the causal ground.
