問：若菩薩是不請之友者，佛何故待梵王天帝請轉法輪？答：菩薩尚不須請，豈況於佛。但是說法之儀，生物慇重故須待請。

Question: If the bodhisattva is an unsolicited friend, why did the Buddha wait for King Brahmā and the Lord of the Gods to entreat him to turn the wheel of Dharma? Answer: If even a bodhisattva does not require entreaty, how much less so the Buddha! It is simply the protocol of preaching the Dharma, and because it generates earnest respect in beings, it must await entreaty.
