問：有餘國名出何經論？答：《法華》云「我於餘國作佛，更有異名。是人雖生滅度之想，而於彼土求佛智慧。」即其義也。《大論》云「二乘入滅，雖不生三界，界外有淨土，於彼受法性之身。」

Question: In what sūtra or treatise does the name "land with remainder" appear? Answer: The Lotus [Sūtra] says, "In another land I become a buddha with a different name. Although this person generates the notion of having attained extinction, in that land they seek the Buddha's wisdom"—this is precisely its meaning. The Dàzhìdù lùn says, "When the two vehicles enter extinction, although they are not born in the three realms, outside the realms there are pure lands where they receive bodies of dharma-nature."
