From "The four immeasurables..." downward: Third, cultivating the causes of the pure land with respect to converting others. This is only speaking tentatively. Why? The bodhisattva from his initial aspiration is always born together with great compassion; how could he practice the six perfections without converting others? The four immeasurable minds also have five kinds: First, the concrete four immeasurable minds, which ordinary people cultivate to attain rebirth in the form realm as Brahmā kings. The four teachings each have their four immeasurable minds: the Tripiṭaka teaching has the four immeasurables conditioned by dharmas of arising and cessation; the shared teaching has those conditioned by dharmas of non-arising; the separate teaching has those conditioned by dharmas beyond the triple world, the storehouse consciousness, and the sands of the Ganges of buddha-dharmas; and the perfect teaching has those conditioned by unconditioned dharmas of the Middle Way buddha-nature without condition, like a lodestone attracting iron, which is uncreated. Later, when he accomplishes buddhahood, living beings of the five kinds of kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity come to be born in his land. The provisional and real, along with the various meanings, are all analogous to the straight mind.
