三、帖文釋者，「隨其直心則能發行」者，直心即是圓教觀中修無作八直，得此直心能具萬行故名發行，亦云得此直心即能行前十七橫法。隨其發行則得深心，直心是解、發行是行，解導於行、行資於解，解行相成如目足備到清涼池，名深廣心也。

Third, interpreting by applying the text: "According to one's straightforward mind, one is able to generate practice": the straightforward mind is precisely cultivating the unconditioned eightfold straightness within the contemplation of the perfect teaching; attaining this straightforward mind, one can be complete with the myriad practices, hence it is called generating practice; it also means that attaining this straightforward mind, one can immediately practice the preceding seventeen horizontal dharmas. According to generating practice, one attains the profound mind: the straightforward mind is understanding, and generating practice is practice; understanding guides practice, and practice assists understanding; understanding and practice mutually completing each other is like having both eyes and feet to reach the pool of cool clarity; this is called the profound and vast mind.
