問：《玄義》判教皆云涅槃法華同味，今何得至法華有如熟蘇者？答：《玄義》約教判味則二經味同，今此約人，故至法華有如熟蘇。

Question: In classifying the teachings, the *Profound Meaning* states that Nirvāṇa and the Lotus Sūtra share the same flavor; how can there now be [the claim that] reaching the Lotus Sūtra is like clarified butter? Answer: When the *Profound Meaning* classifies the flavors in terms of teachings, the two sūtras share the same flavor; here it is in terms of persons, which is why reaching the Lotus Sūtra is like clarified butter.
