問：往昔善根定失不失？答：雖忘不失。故《法華》云「不覺內衣裏有無價寶珠」。又經言「一句染神，彌劫不朽。」

Question: Are the past wholesome roots definitively lost or not lost? Answer: Although forgotten, they are not lost. Thus the Lotus Sūtra says: "Without being aware that inside his inner garment was a priceless jewel." Furthermore, a sūtra says: "A single phrase that tinges the spirit does not decay through countless kalpas."
