5.23

「我念至說法也」，七、滿願自愧。無種智法眼，不見根緣，致有差機之失，豈得稱為說法第一。而謬有所說，於物無益，甚可愧懼。

"I reflect that... preaching the Dharma" is the seventh [part], Pūrṇa's self-reproach. Lacking the Dharma-eye of the knowledge of all modes, he did not see the roots and conditions, which led to the error of mismatching their capacities; how could he be called foremost in preaching the Dharma? Preaching mistakenly and bringing no benefit to living beings is truly a matter for shame and fear.
