5.24

「是故不任詣彼問疾」，四、結辭不堪。自惟往昔說法差機致被呵折，今豈堪傳佛旨往問疾也。

"Therefore I am not competent to go there to inquire after his illness" is the fourth [part], concluding by declining as incompetent. He reflected on his past preaching that mismatched capacities and led to rebuke and refutation; how could he now be competent to convey the Buddha's command and go inquire after his illness?
