問：電是三藏譬，何得入衍門用？答：已說幻譬相續不實，迅速未顯，故借電譬以顯迅速，何不得耶？

Question: Lightning is a metaphor of the Tripiṭaka [teachings]; how can it be admitted and used within the Mahāyāna gate? Answer: Having already spoken of the metaphor of an illusion to show that continuity is unreal, rapidity had not yet been made clear; therefore, borrowing the metaphor of lightning to reveal rapidity, how could it not be acceptable?
