「故我不任詣彼問疾」，四、結成不堪。波離自惟拙度奉律，昔所不能除二比丘罪，致彼大士所彈，爾來揖敬，是故不堪傳旨問疾。

"Therefore I am not competent to go there and inquire after the illness": fourth, concluding his lack of competence. Upāli reflected on his clumsy crossing-over in upholding the precepts, and how in the past he could not remove the transgressions of the two monks, drawing the rebuke of that Mahāsattva, whom he has revered ever since; therefore he is not competent to convey the instruction and inquire after the illness.
