問：上界諸天尚無老病，此之淨土何得有之？答：無別但通。上文云亦生亦老，變易四大若不相違則無變易。雖有通疾，界外四分變易皆輕，豈同分段之重？

Question: The gods of the higher realms do not even have old age and illness; how could this pure land have them? Answer: There is no particular, only the general. The text above states, 'also birth and also old age'; if the four great elements of change are not mutually contrary, then there would be no change. Although there is general illness, the four shares and change outside the realm are all light; how could they be identical to the gravity of fragmented [birth-and-death]?
