問此經明四禪為床座，何得床表真性？答：經教隨緣開喻不定，豈可專執。今解淨名表發罔像得珠，𮙁詬窮研將不失寶。亦如下文明畢竟空寂舍，今見室空即表諸佛國土皆空。

Question: This sūtra explains the four dhyānas as couches and seats; how can a couch signify true nature? Answer: Scriptural teachings employ metaphors variably according to conditions; how could one cling to a single view? Now, understanding Vimalakīrti's symbolic revelation is like finding a jewel in the vague and formless; through scouring away defilement and probing deeply, one will not lose the treasure.
