問：三土眾生癡愛無盡，淨名權疾何當盡也。答：通論權疾，眾生不盡疾亦不盡。今且據一期有緣三土所化，有化緣疾滅，權疾亦滅。

Question: Sentient beings of the three lands have endless delusion and craving; when will Vimalakīrti's provisional illness ever come to an end? Answer: Speaking generally of the provisional illness, as long as sentient beings are not exhausted, the illness is also not exhausted. For now, it is based on those to be converted who have karmic affinity in the three lands in a single period: when the illness of those with affinities for conversion ceases, the provisional illness also ceases.
