"With definitive wisdom, he gathered the unintelligent": Vimalakīrti's dharmakāya abides in the body of the three virtues of ultimate prajñā that is neither folly nor wisdom; he is skillful in distinguishing the characteristics of phenomena without wavering from the supreme truth; with the eight kinds of definitive wisdom for each of the four paths, he gathers the four kinds of unintelligent sentient beings, fully as explained in the chapter on the Buddha-Land. Therefore, from the fundamental ground of the true six pāramitās of the dharmakāya, the bodhisattva raises expedient traces, manifesting the practice of the six perfections to gather sentient beings; this is accomplishing sentient beings and purifying the buddha-land, causing them to return to the fundamental ground, and also supporting and completing the Buddha's teaching of the pure land of inconceivable liberation.
