"Entering brothels, he showed the faults of lust": his trace entered brothels and taught that the nine orifices constantly flow with foul defilement, causing them to know the faults of lust. When lustful thoughts subside, the four roots of goodness develop. If one greedily craves the four dharmas, this is also called lust; knowing the fault of greedy craving, one is not defiled and not attached, and through a pure mind one is able to enter the four inconceivable lands. Thus the text says, "First lure them with desire, then lead them into the Buddha's wisdom."
