Question: If it is said that neither arising nor ceasing is entering the gate of non-duality, then as Pūraṇa [Kāśyapa] also spoke of neither arising nor ceasing, and the sixty-two views also postulated an ineffable storehouse of neither arising nor ceasing, they should also be gates. If they are not, what is the difference?
Answer: The sixty-two views are vain delineations of a deviant mind; they are all deluded assertions of neither arising nor ceasing, not gates of awakening to the Path in accord with wisdom. They do not even attain the principle of the Small Vehicle, so how could they be identical to the inconceivable gate of neither arising nor ceasing?
