二、「前二」下，約身辨示。「亦應亦報」者，暹師云是勝應，故名亦應，他受用故名亦報，此為地上菩薩所現也。「法身所居」者，自受用報攝屬法身。《觀經疏》云「智既應冥，亦非身非不身」。

Second, from "The former two" onward, distinguishing and demonstrating in terms of the bodies. Regarding "both response and retribution," Master Xian says that it is a superior response, hence called "both response," and because it is for the enjoyment of others, it is called "both retribution"; this is manifested for bodhisattvas on the stages. Regarding "abode of the dharmakāya," the retribution of self-enjoyment is subsumed under the dharmakāya. The Commentary on the Contemplation Sūtra states: "Since wisdom is secretly merged [with reality], it is neither body nor non-body."
