三、「若是」下，約人釋，二：初、略示。二、「言深」下，廣釋，二：初、起釋久行，二：初、引無行貼釋，二：初、引彼經正明，二：初、牒解深經，二：初、牒文引經。荊溪云：言深經者，引《無行經》「貪欲是道」者是也。眾生無始與此三俱，勤觀眾生於茲取悟，故云即是。一切諸經，大旨悉然。不得意者，以三為是。二、「指此」下，依經示義。

Third, under "If it is," explanation in terms of persons, which has two [parts]: first, brief indication. Second, under "Speaking of profound," extensive explanation, which has two [parts]: first, introducing the explanation of long practice, which has two [parts]: first, citing the *Wuxing jing* to match and explain, which has two [parts]: first, citing that sūtra to directly clarify, which has two [parts]: first, citing and explaining the profound sūtra, which has two [parts]: first, citing the text and introducing the sūtra. Jingxi says: "Speaking of the profound sūtra, citing the *Wuxing jing*'s statement that 'craving is the Way' is precisely this. Sentient beings have been together with these three from beginningless time; diligently contemplating sentient beings, one takes awakening in this; therefore it says 'is precisely.' All sūtras are completely like this in their general purport. Those who do not grasp the meaning take the three as being [the Way] itself." Second, under "Pointing to this," showing the principle according to the sūtra.
