Second, from "Equal" downward explains accordingly, divided into two: first, going through the names to explain their meanings, which has two parts: first, broadly explaining the three names, which has two parts: first, directly explaining the present text, which has two parts: first, using the three contemplations to explain the names. Jingxi says: The first three bodhisattvas may correspond to the three contemplations, and their sequential matching should also be discernible. Regarding "treating essence and function together": essence is the equal, function is the unequal, and the non-duality of essence and function is called "equal-unequal." The previous two treated essence and function separately; in reality, for the three persons essence and function are entirely equal, and adapting to the capacities of beings, their diverse names are just one, and each single person possesses the virtues of all fifty-one persons.
