二、釋名聞十方。三、釋歎，三：初、釋化他心，二：初、事釋，二：初、釋初句，二：初、標示。二、「菩」下，解釋，二：初、正解。「祈請」者，祈，告也。「連官大將」者，〈王制〉千里之外設方伯。五國為屬，屬有長。十國為連，連有師。故曰連官。

Second, explaining fame heard in the ten directions. Third, explaining the praise, which has three parts: first, explaining the mind that transforms others, which has two parts: first, phenomenal explanation, which has two parts: first, explaining the first phrase, which has two parts: first, pointing out and indicating; second, from "bodhisattva" below, explaining, which has two parts: first, proper explanation. As for "supplication": qi means to announce. As for "general of linked officials": the 'Royal Regulations' states that beyond a thousand li, regional earls are established. Five states make a federation (shu), and a federation has a chief. Ten states make a union (lian), and a union has a master. Hence they are called linked officials.
