二、答，二：初、敘古違經，二：初、敘古釋義。「受八禪定」者，謂四禪四空，此但通舉。其實踰城之後，先從阿羅邏學無所有，次從欝頭藍弗學非非想。

Second, the answer, [which has] two [parts]: First, relating that the ancient [explanations] contravene the sūtra, [which has] two [parts]: First, relating the ancient explanation of the meaning. Regarding "receiving the eight dhyānas": this refers to the four dhyānas and the four formless attainments; this is merely a general mention. In fact, after leaping over the city wall, he first studied the sphere of nothingness under Ārāḍa [Kālāma], and next studied the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception under Udraka Rāmaputra.
