八、作意對那律。「作意名憶數」者，荊溪云：作意方得名為憶也。「佛令起此數」等者，修天眼時，憶光明等以為方便，故云繫心於外境也。

Eighth, matching attention with Aniruddha. "Attention is called the mental factor of recollection": Jingxi says: "Only when there is attention can it be called recollection." "The Buddha caused him to arouse this mental factor" and so on: when cultivating the divine eye, recollecting light and so on serves as the expedient; hence it says "binding the mind to external objects."
