6.37

「犯重毘尼作擯」者，《四分》云「若比丘及尼犯波羅夷已，都無覆藏心，令如法懺悔。」《毘尼母論》云「白四悔法已，名清淨持戒。但此一身不得超生離死，然障入地獄。」《四分》云「若重，犯者滅擯。」「及諸遮道之罪」者，謂犯僧殘已下也。

Regarding "committing a heavy violation of the vinaya and being expelled": The Four-Division Vinaya states: "If a bhikṣu or bhikṣuṇī has committed a pārājika and has no mind of concealment, let them repent according to the Dharma." The Vinayamātṛkā-śāstra states: "Having performed the ritual of fourfold karmavācanā repentance, it is termed purely maintaining the precepts. However, in this single lifetime they cannot transcend birth and death, though it prevents falling into hell." The Four-Division Vinaya states: "If [the offense is] heavy, the violator is permanently expelled." "And the various offenses that obstruct the path" refers to the saṃghāvaśeṣas and below.
