三、揖敬。荊溪云：經云斯有家名者，斯，此也，云在家士也。經云「我從是來」等者，恥小也。故知彼時雖慕而不能取，此時雖恥而不能捨，故但冥資而無顯益。直用彈訶亦得顯名，望彈斥意故云密耳。

Third, bowing in respect. Jingxi says: The sūtra says 'this householder has renown': "this" means here; it refers to a layman. The sūtra says 'From that time on, I,' etc.: he was ashamed of the small. Therefore we know that at that time, although admiring it, he could not take it; at this time, although ashamed of it, he could not abandon it. Thus there was only covert support and no overt benefit. Directly using reproach can also attain the name of overt; looking at the intention of the reproach, it is therefore called covert.
