二、簡心根差別。三、簡訶心所以。荊溪云：問若爾淨名何得等者，而下文云當知比丘心之所念。答意者，凡欲利物先藉知心，一切眾機不出心故，昔有此志今方成機。

Second, distinguishing the differences between minds and faculties. Third, distinguishing the reason for reproaching the mind. Jingxi says: The question asks, "If so, how could Vimalakīrti, etc.", yet the text below says: "One should know what was borne in mind by the monks." The intent of the reply is that whoever wishes to benefit beings must first rely on knowing the mind; because all beings' capacities do not go beyond the mind, having had this aspiration in the past, their capacity matures only now.
