二、釋喻。「大心即是法性」者，荊溪云：明彼比丘昔之曾發正當法性之菩提也。「寶器」等等者，以寶為器，寶即是器，故云寶器。大心貴極，故如寶；大心受法，故如器。解雖分字，同顯大心。

Second, explaining the metaphor. Regarding "The great mind is precisely the Dharma-nature", Jingxi says: This clarifies that those monks had in the past aroused the bodhi that directly corresponds to the Dharma-nature. Regarding "Precious vessel, etc.", using a jewel to make a vessel, the jewel is itself the vessel; hence it is called a precious vessel. The great mind is supremely noble, hence like a jewel; the great mind receives the Dharma, hence like a vessel. Although the explanation separates the characters, together they reveal the great mind.
