三、「若過」下，釋成。荊溪云：善根牢固下，更以性欲更互得名，助釋斯意。習欲成性，性在未來；由性成欲，性在過去。是則欲必現在，根定過去。欲又對緣，必須現在。

Third, from "If in the past" onward explains and establishes [this]. Jingxi states: "From 'wholesome roots are firm' onward, nature and desire are further alternately named to help explain this meaning. Cultivating desire forms nature, so nature lies in the future; resulting from nature produces desire, so nature lies in the past. Thus desire must be in the present, while faculties are definitely in the past. Desire also faces conditions, so it must be in the present."
