二、釋授記，二：初、正約四教。《小彌勒經》明三藏得記，《大彌勒成佛經》及《大品經》並明通教彌勒得記。「示斷一品」等者，荊溪云：前不云示，至此方云者，易濫實故、大乘諸經多說示故。況有教無人，故須說之。

Second, explaining the bestowal of prediction, in two: first, directly with respect to the four teachings. The Minor Maitreya Sūtra clarifies receiving prediction according to the Tripiṭaka [teaching]; the Great Maitreya Buddha Sūtra and the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā both clarify Maitreya receiving prediction according to the shared teaching. As for "manifesting the severing of one grade," etc., Jingxi says: That he previously did not say "manifesting" and only says it when coming to this point is because it easily conflates with the real, and the Mahayana sūtras mostly speak of manifesting. Moreover, there is the teaching but no person, so it must be spoken.
