三、明不堪之事，二：初、分科。二、隨釋，八：初、淨名覺悟持世。「嬈固」者，《纂文》云「嬈，戲弄也。」「固」字宜作厭蠱之蠱。《字林》「蠱，音固、音古。」《爾雅》云「蠱，疑也。」郭璞曰「疑惑人也。」《摩蹬伽經》作擾蠱，謂此魔作擾亂厭蠱也。生公云「固者，非虛焉。」

Third, clarifying the events of being unworthy, in two parts: first, division into headings; second, the sequential explanation, in eight parts: first, Jingming awakens Jagatdhara. Regarding "harassing and bewitching": the *Zuanwen* states, "*Rao* means teasing." The character *gu* should properly be written as the *gu* of sorcery (*yangu*). The *Zilin* states: "*Gu* is pronounced *gu* [in falling tone] or *gu* [in rising tone]." The *Erya* states: "*Gu* means suspecting." Guo Pu says: "Deluding people." The *Mātaṅga Sūtra* writes it as harassing and bewitching, meaning this demon caused disturbance and cast sorcery. Master [Daosheng] says: "*Gu* means not empty."
