三、入文解釋，二：初、分科。二、「所以」下，隨釋，二：初、命四大菩薩，四：初、命彌勒，二：初、命問疾，二：初、敘先命所以。二、「言彌」下，正解名義，二：初、定姓名。肇云「彌勒，南竺國婆羅門姓。出此姓，即以為名。」生云「雖生兜率，猶以本姓稱焉。」此二師解亦符今釋。

Third, entering the text to explain, in two: first, dividing the sections. Second, from "therefore" below, explaining in turn, in two: first, commanding the four great bodhisattvas, in four: first, commanding Maitreya, in two: first, commanding him to inquire after the illness, in two: first, recounting the reason for commanding him first. Second, from "as for the name Mai-" below, directly explaining the name and meaning, in two: first, determining the family name and personal name. Sengzhao says: "Maitreya is a Brahmin clan name in South India. Coming from this clan, it was immediately taken as his name." Daosheng says: "Although born in Tuṣita, he is still referred to by his original clan name." The explanations of these two masters also accord with the present explanation.
