Sixth, regarding the question of where the sixty-two views should be sought, there are two parts: first the question, second the answer. Jingxi says: "Regarding 'undefiled yet defiled', etc.: the principle is fundamentally undefiled, yet beginninglessly ever obscured; how could it be defiled or undefiled? Yet one is able to contemplate it. 'Therefore arising sixty-two views up to the source': this is like exhausting the source of ignorance. 'Ice': the principle is the same but the meanings differ; without distinction yet distinguished. The same single true land is that upon which sentient beings rely; the single dharmakāya is the body of all; that which is relied upon is non-dual, while those who rely are naturally distinct. Since that which is relied upon is not distinct, how could those who rely differ? Beginningless deluded habituation deems circumstantial and direct [rewards] to be distinct."
