二、一番成悲，二：初問、二答。荊溪云：令除煩惱等者，若自有縛，能解彼縛，無有是處，故令先除，除苦因也。

Second, one turn accomplishing compassion, has two parts: first, the question; second, the answer. Jingxi says: Regarding "causing them to eliminate afflictions," etc., if one is bound oneself, that one could unbind others is impossible; hence one is caused first to eliminate them, eliminating the cause of suffering.
