The Commentary says: Next is the Brahmā gods' coming to ask. The divine eye resides in dhyāna, and all the Brahmā kings possess it. Seeing Aniruddha's realization, he came to inquire, thinking it corresponded to his own. However, the stages have higher and lower, and cultivation has weaker and stronger; hence [he asked] how much he was able to see with his divine eye. The old translation had the text inverted.
