初、正釋。時五處四者，一耆山說序時、二室內說壽量時、三夢中見金鼓時、四夢覺詣耆山說時、五列眾至金寶蓋山王佛國讚釋迦時，故時有五也。以說序說夢俱在耆山，故處但四。

First, the correct interpretation. Regarding 'five times and four places': first, the time of expounding the preface on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa; second, the time of expounding the span of life in the room; third, the time of seeing the golden drum in a dream; fourth, the time of awakening from the dream, going to Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa, and speaking; fifth, the time when the gathered assembly reached the Buddha realm of the King of Mountains with Golden Jeweled Parasols to praise Śākyamuni; thus there are five times. Because expounding the preface and speaking of the dream were both on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa, there are only four places.
