二、「一往」下，明三障由破戒。三障之由，教門異說，豈可備陳？今就一門，由破五戒。五戒之義該深攝廣，何法不窮？然不礙餘途，故云一往。問：秖由煩惱起破戒業，豈由破戒成煩惱障？答：由破戒業現多貪恚，如因謗經，深著邪見，婬欲熾盛。此等皆從業起煩惱，故知三障逆順相由。

Second, from "tentatively..." onward, clarifying that the three obstacles arise from breaking the precepts. Diverse expositions of the doctrinal teachings explain the cause of the three obstacles; how could they be completely stated? Now, approaching from one gate, they arise from breaking the five precepts. The meaning of the five precepts encompasses the deep and gathers the broad; what dharma does it not exhaust? Yet it does not obstruct other paths, hence it says "tentatively." Question: Afflictions merely give rise to the karma of breaking precepts; how could breaking precepts bring about afflictive obstacles? Answer: Due to the karma of breaking precepts, much greed and anger are manifested, just as through slandering sūtras, one deeply clings to heterodox views and lust blazes. All such afflictions arise from karma, so know that the three obstacles condition each other inversely and accordantly.
