二、「俗」下，示合七為二意。俗不能護口者，以五戒制在家眾故。口分四過，俗護誠難，故但制一。飲酒是邪命自活者，以酒資身，不遵正戒，名為邪命。

Second, from "the worldly" onward, demonstrating the intention behind combining the seven into two. "The worldly cannot protect speech" is because the five precepts were laid down for the householder community. Speech is divided into four faults; for the worldly to guard against them is truly difficult, so only one was instituted. "Drinking alcohol is living by wrong livelihood": using alcohol to sustain the body without following the correct precepts is called wrong livelihood.
