初、結上起今。若其但說十善因果，斯乃淺近一塗之說，於方等經未為允愜，此結上也。今當更約世出世間漸頓止行，方是佛因，此起今也。

First, concluding the above and raising what follows. If one merely speaks of the causes and effects of the ten goods, this is only a shallow and proximate one-sided explanation, which is not yet fully adequate for a Vaipulya sūtra; this concludes the above. Now one should further consider the worldly and world-transcending, gradual and sudden cessation and practice, which only then constitutes the Buddha-cause; this raises what follows.
