初、施皮。為他宣說實相之戒，遮二邊罪、修中道福。此戒無相，持尚叵得，豈存於犯？體既雙忘，名尸彼岸。如此說戒，方名布施法身之皮。血等例爾。

First, giving the skin. Proclaiming the morality of the true mark for others intercepts faults of the two extremes and cultivates the merit of the Middle Way. This morality is signless; since observing [it] cannot be grasped, how could there remain any violation? Since its substance transcends both [observance and violation], it is named the perfection of morality (*śīla-pāramitā*). Only explaining morality in this manner is properly called bestowing the skin of the Dharma body. Blood and the rest are modeled on this.
