初、示理明相。上釋總瑞，一切世間未曾有事悉具出現，以表十界假實依報皆顯三德。今明十界假實依報一一四諦諦諦三德，是理遍相，名為法身，知此名報、起用名應，應有長短。

First, showing the principle to clarify the characteristics. The general auspicious sign was explained above: unprecedented events in all worlds completely appeared, symbolizing that the provisional and real dependent retributions of the ten realms all manifest the three virtues. Now it clarifies that the provisional and real dependent retributions of the ten realms, in each and every one of the four truths, truth by truth, possess the three virtues. This is the characteristic of the pervasive principle, named the Dharmakāya; knowing this is named the retribution [body]; generating function is named the response [body]; and the response possesses length and shortness.
