二、釋文，二：初、分文。二、隨釋，二：初、長行，二：初、釋對告人、二：初、約對治釋。《瑞應》云「佛告魔王：『我積功累德，今得作佛。』魔云：『積功累德，誰為證？』佛時以手指地云：『是知我。』」是者，謂指地神。于時地神涌現為證。

The Ruiying says: "The Buddha told the Māra King: 'Having accumulated merits and gathered virtues, I now attain Buddhahood.' Māra said: 'Having accumulated merits and gathered virtues, who will bear witness?' The Buddha then pointed his finger to the ground, saying: 'This one knows me.'" "This one" refers to pointing to the earth spirit. At that time, the earth spirit welled up and appeared to bear witness.
