二、總結集業致苦。上釋四蛇雖言苦報，意明集因緣，故總結云集業相噬。令大增損，推功歸集，是經正意。

Second, summarizing that the karma of origination brings about suffering. Although the above explanation of the four serpents speaks of retributive suffering, the intention is to explain the causes and conditions of origination; therefore, it summarizes by saying that the karmas of origination devour one another, causing the great [elements] to increase and decrease. Ascribing the function back to origination is the primary meaning of the sūtra.
